Karen M. Graves-McCallop was born at K U Medical Center the third child to the union of Vernon E. Graves, Sr. and Leatrice Galvin Graves-McCallop.  She was preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents.

Karen was united in marriage to Harrison McCallop, Jr. and from this union on son, Harrison McCallop, III was born.

Karen grew up in Holliday, Kansas, now Shawnee, KS and graduated from DeSoto High School.  She was a member of Community Missionary Baptist Church Shawnee, KS now under the leadership of Dwayne and Margaret K. Doss.

Karen worked 20 years for Prudential Financial Services and later for J C Penney and Stein Mart until their recent closing.  She made friends with co-workers and many Stein Mart customers.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Harrison McCallop, III; mother, Leatrice (Rudolph) McCallop; siblings, Linda Browne, Vernon (Mary) Graves, Maryhelen Graves-Heggie and Jeffrey (Doris) Graves; granddaughter, Shakira Turner; three great-granddaughters; nieces, Tamara Pegues-Gray, Shamona Graves, Shalaun (Chase) Johnson, Tinea (Loren) Canaday; nephews, Marques Browne, Isaac Graves-Heggie, Dwight Lewis, Jeffrey (Cambrien) Graves; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside Services for Mrs. McCallop will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Newcomers Shawnee Memorial Gardens, Shawnee, KS.
