Karen Eileen
was born on October 17, 1956, to the union of
Russell and Venora Wilson.
Karen
was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Along
with her siblings, they were known as the
"
Wilson Girls
"
and growing
up Karen most often was the strong
-
minded hell raiser of the bunch.
Her parents, Russell and Venora Wilson; her brothers Roderick M.
and Rodney R. Harris; a son, Michael C. Lee; and sisters, Carlisa Y.
Wilson, and Eve L. Hayes, preceded her in death.
Karen
g
raduated from Paseo High School in 1975 where she
was a member of the Black and Gold Drill Team.
After high school,
she attended college for a short while.
After college, she held various
jobs
where
she
worked
at
Tension
Envelop,
J.C.
Penney,
and
Woodbridge, in positions such as production line worker, customer
service, and cashier.
Karen
enjoyed cooking, sewing, watching movies & cooking
shows,
playing
cards
and
board
games
with
her
family.
At
the
encouragement of her Aunt Venethia, Karen starting bowling very early
as a young adult and was part of her aunt
'
s traveling bowling team for
many years. Karen continued to bowl and remained employed until her
health got the best of her. For the past several years Karen has resided
in a LT Care Facility. While there, Karen was a continual winner in the
facilities Bingo games.
Karen become known for giving her signature
'
finger
'
gesture whenever someone tried to capture her in a picture.
This part of her legacy has been passed down to her son, DeRon, who
also lovingly displays her signature

"
gesture in pictures.

Veloris Allen, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other
relatives and friends.
Karen will always be remembered as a beloved
daughter, sister, aunt, niece, mother, grandmother, friend and cousin to
all.
