Kelvin Raynard Hawkins was born on April 8, 1965, the fifth of seven children, and first twin, to George H. Hawkins, Sr & Mildred L. (Pegue) Hawkins.

His parents, and two older brothers George Jr, and Raymond Lewis preceded him in death.

Kelvin was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Mo.  He received his primary schooling through the Kansas City School District, graduating from Paseo High School.   He then attended and graduated from The University of Missouri – Kansas City, in 1987 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance.

He was Vice President and Manager of Recruitment for UMB Bank from 1983 to 2000.  In July 2000, he began working for Halls, as a Human Resources Manager, until 2016.  Kelvin then moved on to work for Woodley Building Maintenance as a Human Resources Manager until his death.

Kelvin Hawkins was a lifelong member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, of Jesus Christ.  He served in many capacities with the youth department.

Kelvin was an active member of the KC community throughout his life.  He was part of the Inroads program and he participated in Big Brothers and Big Sisters Programs.

Kelvin never had any children of his own, so his nieces and nephews were near and dear to his heart, not to mention being a God father to several friend's children.

Kelvin leaves to celebrate his home going: a sister Vernita Haney, and brother, Gregory Hawkins, of Wichita Ks, a twin brother Kevin Hawkins, of the City, and his younger brother, DeAndre' Hawkins, Sr. (Shannon) of Milwaukee Wi, a sister in law Anshanette Hawkins of the city, two dear aunts, Katheryn House and Florida Smith, both of the city, and extended family members: Perri Cadenhead, Candace Rucker, and a host of nephews and nieces.

Services for Mr. Hawkins will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Brooking Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday at the chapel.
