Launita Rose Williams Hood was born October 15, 1937 to McHenry and Arizona Dixon Williams and departed this life on Saturday, September 30, 2022 in Kansas City, MO.

At an early age, Launita accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Andrew Missionary Church in Tillar, Arkansas.

She graduated from Wolfe Project High School in Tillar, Arkansas in 1957. Like her mother Launita attended The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (formally known as Arkansas A M&N) and studied education. It is there that she met and married Earl Hood Sr. To this union 3 children were born, LaFenus, Cherl and Earl Jr. In the years to come, the Hoods relocated to Kansas and then Missouri where they both joined the Kansas City Missouri School District as Educators.

Launita had a love for fishing, sewing, cooking, knitting and shoes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Roscoe, Maryland and Tomie; 3 sisters, Alberta, Odessa and Eloria and great-grandson Xavier Slater.

Left to cherish her memory: her daughter Cherl; sons, LaFenus and Earl Jr.: grandson Brandon, great-grandson Isiah William Slater and great grand-daughter Saniyah Adora Hood all of KCMO; 3 sisters, Pearl Landers Fate, Texas, Joyce Shaffer and Natlen Falls (Chester} of KCMO and a host of nieces, nephews' other Relative.

Services for Mrs. Hood will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at E.S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel. Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery, Monday, October 10, 2022.  Friends may call from 10am until service time Saturday at the Chapel.
