Laura Mae Jordan was born July 2, 1932 to Herbert and Gertrude Jordan Sr. Laura accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a faithful, dedicated and active member of the Golden Circle, Usher board, and started the food pantry at St Andrew Methodist Church. She attended Kansas City MO Public Schools, Booker T. Washington, R.  T. Coles and was a proud graduate of the class of 1949, at Historic Lincoln High School. She also attended the Gerry-Lynn Finishing School of Charm & Modeling in the spring of 1954. Laura, continued her education and was certified at the University of Missouri (UMKC) to become a Social Worker in 1980.

Laura married Edward James Bolder on September 27th 1959. To this union four children were born Gregory, Angela, Lora and Edye Laura was the PTA president and volunteer with the Book Mobile at Blenhiem Elementary School. She started as a volunteer social worker, later became Senior Coordinator for Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries until retiring in 1997.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 40 years Edward J. Bolder, four sisters, Glady Watkins, Beverly Saunders (Wilfred), Sandra Thurston (Maurice), Ella Mae Jordan; four brothers, Herbert Jordan Jr., William Jordan, Thomas Jordan and Eugene Jordan (Bettye); two nieces, Cynthia Thurston and Stephanie Saunders; two nephews, Steven Saunders and Kevin Jordan; one adored grandson-in-law, Terance Wilson (Laurin).

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her son, Gregory Bolder (Venessa); three daughters, Angela Bolder, Lora Roach (Kelvin) and Edye Walker (Sheldrick); a bonus daughter, Elaine Buford; one brother, Richard Jordan (Celia); two brothers-in-law, Maurice Thurston and Wilfred Saunders; a sister-in-law, Bettye Jordan; three granddaughters, Tiffani Murphy (Delvin), Laurin Wilson, JeNay Walker; four grandsons, Golden Banks (Ursula), Gregory Bolder Jr., Curtis Walker, Elijah Walker; six great-grandchildren, Zion, Golden Jr., La'Riah, Tristian, Londyn and Gavin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, additional sons and daughters and friends.

Services for Mrs. Bolder were held 10:30AM Monday, November 29, 2021, at Saint Andrews United Methodist Church.  Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery. Friends may call from 9AM until service time at the church.
