Leslie Spencer, Jr. was born, March 31, 1932, to the union of Robbie and Leslie Spencer, Sr. in Sumner, Mississippi.  He was next to the oldest of five children.  His father, mother, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

The family later moved to Kansas City, MO where he attended school.  Leslie was well known on the West side and assisted with organizing the yearly Westside Picnic.  He was employed at Tastee Bakery in North Kansas City, MO for over thirty years, retiring with Gold Status.  He knew numerous people in Kansas City and nationally; famous Jazz Singers, musicians, baseball players and entrepreneurs.

Leslie loved family.  He had a spontaneous sense of humor, he was witty and kept you laughing.  He was also thoughtful, kind, and compassionate and love people.  Leslie was a very stylish dresser, it was like he'd just walked off the pages of a magazine with his Stetson hats and Stacey Adams shoes.

Leslie Spencer, Jr. departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 17, 2019, in Kansas City, Missouri.

He is survived by: his brother, James Spencer; sons, Leslie Spencer, III, Gerald Blewett, Sr. and Leslie Spencer; daughters, Maryetta Riley (James), Kay Lewis, Robin Spencer-Nugent (Floyd) all of Kansas City, MO; fifteen grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services for Mr. Spencer will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 26, 2019, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Lincoln Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
