Leslie Jose Moore was born September 15, 1964, to Cecil Moore, Sr. and Willetta Josephine Moore in Kansas City, Missouri.  He worked for the Kansas City Star and the Kansas City, Missouri School District for a combined 22 years.  He attended Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri until 1982.  He loved listening to music, dancing, and celebrating with family.

He passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at the age of 56.  His father, Cecil Moore, Sr., mother, Willetta Josephine Moore, and his brother, Cecil Moore, Jr. preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his son, Joshua Canton (Danielle) of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jay'lynn Canton (age 11), Airy'hana Canton (age 9), and Ja'salenna Canton (newborn); four siblings, Beverly Thomas (Charles) of Kansas City, Missouri, Vicki Moore of Seattle, WA, Crystal White (Sandy) of Kansas City, Missouri, and George Moore (Brandy) of Columbia, Missouri; also his significant other of 23 years, Austein Cooper and a host of nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Memorial Services for Mr. Moore will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Greater St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Forest Lewis, officiating.
