Linda Kaye Clark (Wilson) was born to Doretha M. Alexander and Felix G. Wilson, Sr. on April 18, 1949 in Muskogee, OK.  She was such a well liked and exceptional child growing up, the teachers wanted to adopt her away.  She graduated from Manual Training High School and completed some college course work. During her formative years, Linda, lovingly called Popeye, was by all accounts a very pretty young lady, responsible, talented in dance and excelled in majorette.  She always looked after her siblings, was kind to a fault, generous and seemingly never met a stranger.  She LOVED and believed in family.  Linda, also described as honorable, by the book and an all around good girl, accepted Christ at a young age.  As lead singer for the group of her sisters and cousin, The Gospelettes, she along with Charlie Mae, Betty, and Sandra Faye (Denny) sang on Muskogee radio KBIX.  An up tempo "I Shall Wear A Crown" & "Mary Don't You Weep" being two of her favorites to sing.  Anyone who knew her knew there would be a good time, singing and food whenever she was around.  Just in case you've ever wanted to know what her secret ingredient was for any recipe, it was always PRAYER!

Linda was employed and later retired from Southwestern Bell.  She worked as a switchboard operator, held title as artist and reporter for their office newsletter and was on the committee for United Way for their Independence, MO campus.  Linda enjoyed service to people and working diligently for the Lord.  You would usually find her at Bible study, Jurisdiction meetings, revival, prayer and any committee catering to those in need.  She was on fire for the Lord.

Later in life, Linda met and married Laurence C. Clark.  She often journaled and wrote of marriage that, "there are no perfect marriages without Jesus."  The bond that these two had, we all know spilled over into the heavens, for their match could only have been made there.  He, her "Gentle Giant" and she, his "Precious".  As First Lady, Missionary Linda Clark taught Sunday School for the Children's Department and later for the Women's Department.  She was head of the Hospitality Committee and Fifth Sunday was her day and she brought the message.  She continued with her duties until she was unable due to her bout with physical ailments and Alzheimer's.

Linda's home life included rearing her children in and with the word of the Lord. Her desire was to "save souls, work in the church and let children know that Jesus and the church cares about them".  She understood her assignment and did her diligent work to show all who knew her to Christ.

Linda was proceeded in death by her grandparents, parents, two sisters: Donald Faye Wright & Deborah Hart, two brothers: Martin Wilson & Stanley Alexander; loving husband Laurence C. Clark.

She leaves to mourn 8 children:  Aretha Turner (Demetrius), Tonia Henderson, Arlisa Osborn, Lamonte Johnson (Christine),  Arkenya Osborn, Christopher Clark, Arlynda Osborn, Arlaysha Osborn; 14 siblings: Charlie Mae Bills, Betty Jean McConnell (Robert), Felix G. Wilson, Jr., Jerry Alexander (Tina), Marqueta Wilson-Jones, James Wilson (Kim), Matt Wilson (Ronnie), Sharon Wilson-Parnell, Kathy Kimble, Vicky Wilson-Anderson, Marion Edwards, Thomas Wilson, Sr. (Charla), Stanley Wilson, Troy Wilson (Monica); 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Clark will be held at Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ, 11922 Food Lane, Grandview, Missouri 64030, Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00AM.  Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00AM until service time at the church.
