Linda Joyce Newsome was born to Ernest and Mayola Estelle on July 22, 1958, in Kansas City, Kansas. Both parents preceded her in death.

She was educated in the Johnson County School District and graduated from J. C. Harmon High School in 1976.  Linda earned her Associate Degree from Faith Bible College in Kansas City. She held several jobs including but not limited to bus operator, cook, florist, child-care provider, and teacher.

Linda confessed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Greater Pentecostal Temple.  She was married on February 25, 1978, to Elder James Newsome Sr.  They had just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.  To this union two children were born, son, James Newsome III and daughter, Jennifer Fells.

Linda was very creative. She had several hobbies including sewing, gardening, and putting together floral arrangements. She was very fashionable.  Her siblings nicknamed her "Hollywood".  Linda truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Linda departed this earthly life on Monday, May 8, 2023, in Kansas City, MO.

She leaves to honor her memory: her husband of 45 years, Elder James Newsome Sr.; son James Newsome III (Chanel); daughter Jennifer Fells; four grandchildren, US Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Joycelynn Newsome, of Lemoore, CA, Levon Newsome, Ryan Fells and Jaylyn Fells; one brother, Executive Pastor Lester Estelle (Patricia); three sisters, Denise Byas (Marvin, deceased and family), Phyllis Coleman and Cynthia Mallory and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Newsome will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Greater Pentecostal Temple.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
