Lisa Annette Lolar‑Tatum , 54, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 19, 2026. Anyone who knew Lisa, knew her heart — generous, steady, and full of love.

Lisa was born in Arkansas City, Kansas, in Cowley County, at Memorial Hospital on October 14, 1971, to Claude Lolar, Jr. and Glenda Elaine Buni Bradford. As a child, Lisa was quiet, thoughtful, and often found with her nose in a book. She loved spending time with her siblings and cousins, forming bonds that shaped her gentle spirit.

As a teenager, Lisa attended Wichita West High School in Wichita, Kansas, where she was a beloved cheerleader and a loyal friend.

As a young woman and new mother, Lisa aspired to become a journalist — reading and writing came naturally to her, and poetry flowed from her with ease. She traveled throughout her life but eventually found her home in Kansas City, Missouri. On March 4, 2002, Lisa's life blossomed even further when she became both a wife and a mother, joining hands in marriage with Rickie Tatum. Together, they raised four beautiful children and built a life full of love, strength, and cherished memories.

Lisa had a way of making people feel seen. Through her work in caregiving, she dedicated herself to helping others with patience, compassion, and a gentle strength that made people feel safe in her presence. Her devotion to family and the simple, everyday kindness she offered without hesitation touched lives in ways that will never be forgotten.

Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved father, Claude Lolar, Jr.; her mother, Glenda E. Bradford; and her dearly loved son, Juwan Lolar. Though they went before her, their memories remained forever close to her heart.

Lisa leaves behind her loving husband, Rickie Tatum, and her children, Mercedes Alberson, Marcellus Alberson, Maleesa Lolar, Nicolas Lolar, and Malena Lolar. Through them, her love, wisdom, strength, and spirit will continue to live on.

She was fruitfully blessed with ten deeply adored and beautiful grandchildren, organized lovingly by age, Jai'Lynn Liggans (10), Amari Keandre Alberson (10), Shanell Liggans (8), Amina Liggans (6), Aaliyah Liggans (4), Amerie Yvette Alberson (4), Amiyah Liggans (3), Me'Kai Smith (2), Nayeli Liggans (1), and Beautiful Lolar; each one holding a special place in her heart.

Lisa is also survived by her six beloved siblings — Marcus, Kesha, Shaunta, Champagne, Claude, and Tiara — who will forever treasure the memories they shared together. She also leaves behind a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will forever hold her memory close.

Services will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, at E.S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel, Inc. on July 2, 2026. The viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the service beginning immediately afterward. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a life beautifully lived.
