Lorene White Rainey was born March 20, 1931, in Lanty, Arkansas.  She was the twelfth of thirteen children to the union of Tom and Susie Mitchem White.  Her parents, six brothers, five sisters and two daughters, Loretta Sandifer and Latonya Turner preceded her in death.

Lorene was educated in the Center School System in Cleveland, Arkansas.  She graduated from Menifee High School.  She was employed with the Veterans hospital for 22 years.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of sixty four years, Sammie Rainey; son, Terry Rainey (Deborah) of Independence, MO; daughters, Sandra Ellis of Overland Park, KS, June Matfield of KCMO, Thomasine Spence (Bruce), Sherrie Jordan (Leonard Sr.) both of Grandview, MO and Jacinda Rainey of KCMO; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Jessie White of Benton Harbor, MI; three sisters-in-law, Reola White, Augusta White and Ora Dee Parker (Atlas) and a brother-in-law, Henry Rainey; several close friends, many adopted children and grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.

Services for Mrs. Rainey will be held 11:00 A. M. Monday, April 9, 2018, at Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Monday at the church.
