In Loving Memory of Lovie B. Council , born April 4, 1939, to Elmo and Alma Taylor in Belem, Mississippi. She was 85 years old when she departed on August 31, 2024, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was the sixth child born of 12 siblings.

Lovie Council relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1963. She was married to Charles William Council, Sr. who preceded her in death. Lovie had a total of eight children.

Lovie gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie McGee and current Pastor Kevin Smith. She was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She loved singing and joined the choir at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she formed a gospel group with her sister Lucy called, "The Gospel Spiritual Singers," along with Alfonso Jefferson and Sister Crosby. Lovie worked at Allright Car Parking for many years until retirement. Lovie's doors were always open to family and friends in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Alma; three sons, Cleveland Taylor, Charles Council, and Lendery Council; four daughters, Laura Council, Carrie Davis, Erlene Ivy, and Geraldine Ivy; grandchildren, James Ivy, Jayvin Ivy, Micah Mondaine, and Kareem Hurley, Jr.; seven brothers, Elmo Taylor, Freddie Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Johnny Taylor, William Taylor, Eddie D. Taylor and Joe Willie Taylor; and one sister, Lucy Mae Jefferson.

Lovie leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Lee Council (Valerie) and Johnny Council; two daughters, Janice Jefferson and Joyce Robinson; four sisters, Cleora Taylor from Chicago Illinois, Ruthie Coleman from Harvey Illinois, Sheila Yarbrough from Tuskegee Alabama, and Mildred Motley from Dixmoor Illinois; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family that loved her dearly.

She will forever be in our thoughts as she has left a legacy for generations of generations.
