Lynette Rachelle Flippen entered this life on October 13, 1955, to the union of Theodore Flippen and Mable (King) Flippen.  The 6th of 7 children, Lynn, as she was called, was born in Kansas City, Kansas.  The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri when Lynn was a young child.

Receiving most of her education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, Lynn later received her GED from the Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

Lynn enjoyed listening to old school R&B, computer games, shopping, dining out, watching Lifetime movies and cooking shows.

Lynn held various positions in retail and had over 30 years of dedicated service in the hospital services industry for Lakeside Hospital, Trinity Lutheran Hospital and Research Medical Center before she retired due to health issues.

Lynn was a devoted mother to her son Shondell Lamar Flippen, with whom she shared a home, loving sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Calvin Eugene Flippen; sisters, Connie Elizabeth Flippen and Janet E. Gordon; nephews, Jeffrey Scott Greene, William Arthur Zachary Gordon-Price and Partick Marvin Banks; and niece, Melinda Rena' Powell.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, Shondell Lamar Flippen, of the home; sister, Sandra Greene; brothers, Cordell 'Bob' Flippen and Therdore Flippen, all of the city; brother-in-law, Arthur Gordon, Olathe, KS; sister-in-law, Lavonne (Will) Powell-Brownbey, Kansas City, MO; also cherishing her memory are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kingswood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility and Kansas City Hospice.
