Madie Rogers, Jr. was born on September 25, 1938, in Jonestown, Mississippi, to the union of Maud and Madie Rogers, Sr. He was the third oldest of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Carmen Rogers; one sister, Lillie B. Roger-Hampton; four brothers, Joel Rogers, Garland M. Rogers, Marvin Rogers, and Ezzard Charles Rogers.

Madie received his early education in the Jonestown, Mississippi School District. After finishing high school in 1955, he entered the military, serving in the United States Army. He served faithfully for the next 29 years, including two Vietnam tour of duty. He retired at the rank of an SFC E-7. He earned several awards, including the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and Expert Badge (M-16).

Madie worked 21 years and 11 months for the Alaska Pipeline as a Petroleum Supply Specialist. In addition, he worked as an Administrative Specialist.

Madie transitioned into eternity on October 6, 2025, at home surrounded by family.

Madie leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Johnnie Rogers and Marleace Rogers-McClain, both of Peculiar, Missouri; three brothers, Ray Rogers of Grandview, Missouri, Gilbert Rogers, and Herman Rogers, both of Kansas City, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
