Mae Vinnie Wright was born May 21, 1946, in Austin, Texas.

She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1964.  She earned an Associate's Degree in Business from Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, Missouri.

She enjoyed going out to eat at restaurants. She also enjoys bowling, softball, and shopping.

Mae was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church.  She sang in the Choir.

Mae was more than an Aunt to most of the kids in the family.  She was more of a surrogate mother to Rhonda Johnson Hall and Timothy Johnson, Jr.  Mae always greeted everyone in her home with a hug and a smile.  She was loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Almeadie Murphy and Roosevelt Wright; two brothers, John Johnson and Timothy L. Johnson, Sr.; and her nephew, Cedric L. Young.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and two special friends, Portia V. Payton and Joann Pouncil; and her adopted niece Althea Thompson.
