Maije was born December 6, 1997, in Kansas City, MO to the union of Tina Bradford and George Benson.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Musa Benson.

She was educated in the Texarkana, TX and Park Hill School Districts.  At the time of her passing she was employed at Amazon and PC Connections. Both her boss and coworkers at PC Connections have nothing but praise and high remarks for her work ethic and happy personality. She will be greatly missed by many.

Always a girly girl, she loved fashion and shopping.  Her favorite place to shop was the "Pink Outlet".  She inherited her mother's love for doing her hair and always looking her best.  As a child she played sports with her father and brothers, soccer was a special favorite.  As an adult she enjoyed going for walks and running.  Maije considered herself a "Daddy's Girl" and bragged about that to everyone.  Maije was proud of both her Liberian and American heritage.  She often talked of traveling the world, wanting to see more than just Kansas City. She loved listening to her favorite rapper Gee Money, music was very important to her.  She loved her sons, LJ & Eli more than anything and was working hard to make a good life for them.  They were the most important thing in her life.  While she loved all of her siblings, Maije shared a special bond with her sister, Marcie and her brother, Zachariah.  They will forever love her and hold onto the memories of their time with her.  Our entire family will love and cherish Maije forever.

Maije Kinsasha Benson passed away October 3, 2020, in Kansas City, MO.

October is Domestic Violence Month, sadly we lost Maije due to an act of domestic violence.  She was taken from us by a man that claimed to love her!  We encourage any family or friends that may be experiencing an abusive relationship to reach out for help.  We are here for you and there are resources available to help you.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  her sons, Lance "LJ" Brewer Jr. and Elijah "Eli" Benson; her loving parents, Tina Bradford and George Benson (Daylee Barway);  paternal grandmother, Oliva Benson; maternal  grandparents, Doris Ann Allen and Herman Allen; sisters, Marqell Stinson, Marquanale Stinson, Marcellas Bradford, and Georgette Benson; brothers, George "Rocky" Benson, Jr., Demarco Griffin, Gary Bradford, Giorgio Benson, Jeremiah Benson, Zachariah Benson, Musa Benson, and Isaiah Benson; aunts, Sabrina Webber, Anjuanette Haywood, Levette Berry, Rachel Benson, Angeline Benson, and Viola Benson; uncles; Boakai Kamara, Stephen Benson, Cephas Benson, Sheriff  Benson, Abraham Benson, Adam Benson, James Benson, Wilbert Anderson, and Kedrin Anderson; paternal first cousins. Luke Boy Siafa, Blessing Siafa, Mackie Siafa; 13 nieces and nephews, several cousins, and a host of family and friends that will forever cherish her memory.  Maije will be missed dearly by all that love her.

Services for Ms. Benson will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Life Church in Kansas City, MO.  Burial New Salem Cemetery Indep. MO.  Friends may call 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday, November 6, 2020, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
