Martha Shirelle (Moffett) Moore was born in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of the late Robert Allen Moffett and Lizzie Lee (Beard) Moffett, April 2, 1962. She accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and was baptized April 9, 1967, at the Starlight Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of C.L. Dixon.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert A. Moffett, Jr. and a niece Elisha Charvei Moffett.

Educated in the Kansas City School District, Martha graduated from Paseo High School, class of 1980.  She also attended the Aileen Jefferson School of Cosmetology.  United in matrimony to Lee A. Moore, she lovingly embraced the addition to her life of a young daughter.  Martha, called Shirelle by family and close friends was a hard worker and held positions at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Shook Hardy & Bacon Law Firm, Paseo Baptist Church Learning Center and Swope Health Center  Harris House where she was employed as a Mental Health Technician when her health begin to fail.

Martha enjoyed a great many hobbies and past-times, she loved the Kansas City Chiefs, fine Dining, shopping, a friendly card game, and fishing excursions with her mother and son.  But her greatest passion was food, the preparation and presentation of meals.  She was an excellent cook and exceptional caterer.  She derived her most satisfaction from gathering family and friends around the dining-room or picnic table for holiday meals or any reason.  Family was foremost in her affections; having no grandchildren, she reveled in the loving hugs and kisses of her great-niece and great-nephews.

Following a prolonged illness, Martha Shirelle Moore entered into eternal rest, on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, while in the Research Medical Center, KCMO.

She will always remain in the hearts and minds to be loved and cherished by: her son, LeEdward S. Wynn-Moffett of the home; sisters, Gwendolyn Moffett-Pate and Tammy Thomas of the city; nephew, Mark Thomas, Sr. (Amy); great-niece and nephews, Kenley, Mark Jr. and Christian Thomas, all of Independence; sister-cousin, Crystal Washington; brother-cousins, Paul Byrd (Angela) and  Marvin Byrd (Sheila) all of Memphis, TN and Rosevone Byrd II (Carolyn) of MS; her father, Booker Nunley, Independence; step-daughter, Christana Moore; sister-in-law, Ava Moore; god-daughter, Kia Cole; best friends, Dushai Thomas and Edward Wynn all of KCMO.  She will also be greatly missed by her church families Starlight Missionary Baptist and Greater Grace Temple Pentecostal and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Service for Ms. Moore will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 10 2019, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Scott F. Thomas of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church officiating.  Burial Brooking Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
