Mary Agnus Juanita Anderson was born on July 11, 1944, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was born to the union of Omar and Betsy Shepherd.  She was the second youngest of six children born to this union. She is preceded in death by both parents and all of her siblings.

Mary was affectionately called by her middle name of "Juanita".

Juanita was educated in the Okmulgee, Oklahoma School District.  She graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1962.

Juanita moved to Kansas City in 1963.

She met the love of her life, Herman Anderson. She was faithfully and happily married until his passing. She had one child who passed away.

Juanita was employed by the Marriott Hotel for 26 years.

Juanita loved talking, joking, and making people laugh. She loved going to the casinos.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a special niece, Marisha Shaffer, and a host of other relatives and friends.
