Mary Ann Taylor was born in Westlake, Louisiana, to the late Katie and Freddy Smith on November 30, 1957.

Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, at an early age.  She joined the Damascus Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful member under the leadership of Rev. James Monroe.

Her passion was singing.  She constantly sang praises unto the Lord.  Mary was a member of the gospel ensemble, The Wings of Joy, for several years.

Mary was preceded in death by both parents, along with son, Frederick Louis Taylor (Fred); and brother, Fred Smith, Jr.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Delana Taylor and Delise Brown of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Rakayah Bowls; two great-grandsons, Darryl Brown (DJ) and Marcus Cooper (Mar); and a host of family and friends.
