Maynard Johnson, III, 45, unexpectedly passed on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center.  He was born on January 4, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri to Maynard Jr. and Carolyn Johnson.

Maynard grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and resided in Grandview, MO. In 1994, he graduated from East High School and after graduation, he attended Brown Mackie College. He held a career at Ford Assembly Plant in Claycomo, MO.

He loved life and spent it surrounded by the unconditional love of his family and friends. Maynard was well liked and respected. He always displayed his long time love for basketball and found joy in the Michigan Wolverines.

Above all things, Maynard cherished mostly his role as a father to his daughter, Kardya, who was his pride and joy. One of his highlights was supporting her love for soccer, from grade school through high school.

Maynard leaves to cherish his loving memory: one daughter, Kardya Johnson; father, Maynard Johnson Jr.; mother, Carolyn Johnson; one brother, Nicholas Johnson (sister in love, April); one sister, Gabrielle Johnson and one nephew, Chauncy Thomas II all of Kansas City, MO. The love of his life, Lori Morgan and bonus children DeAndre', Danielle, Milan, Donnell and Devin all of Grandview, MO and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.

Services for Mr. Johnson will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 6, 2021, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until service time Friday at the chapel.
