Michael was born on December 15, 1952, to Ernestine Vanoy Jefferson and Manuel Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Gloria Jean, Lillie, Jeanette, Sherry, Lena Mae, and Michelle Renee.

Michae l was educated in Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas graduating from Rosedale High School in the class of 1970. He attended Pittsburgh State College for a couple of years.

Michael was employed with the United States Postal Service for over 30 years retiring in 2015 as a window clerk.

Michael united with Greystone Heights Missionary Baptist Church as a child.   Michael has served the church in many positions. Michael drove the bus, was the youth leader, and has been a Deacon and Trustee for over 40 years. He has served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for over 30 years.

Michael married C. Renay Kimbrough on March 14, 1973. They had 3 children Michelle, Lora Denise, and Michael II. Michael believed in family and opened his home to help raise Terry and Robert Wallace. He was a role model to his nieces and nephews and many other young men and women because he lived what he believed.

Michael was, an ATHLETE , a true athlete it did not matter what sport it was, he was going to watch it, play it, or coach it.  He really loved his sports right Mikey?

Michael leaves to Honor his Life: His wife of 51 years C. Renay Jefferson. His son Michael Jefferson II (Mayila), Daughters Michelle Jefferson, Lora Niecie Doolin.  Grandchildren Vanessa Harvey (Anthony), Sparkel Parker, Danielle Doolin, Jimmy F. Nichols, Jr., Marcus Cooper, Mykah Doolin, Na'Xya Dunn, Peyton Taylor, Xavier Doolin, Michael Jefferson III, Mason Jefferson.  Great Grandchildren: Alyric Harvey, Aniyah Harvey, Emily Harvey, Madison Harvey, A'layiah McDaniels, Anthony Harvey III, Marcus Cooper II. Sister in Laws Vicki Smith, Traci Hall (William). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
