Mitchell Dale Fowlkes , 72, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on November 12, 2025. Mitch was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to his biological mother, Clara Guillory, and was later adopted by Ardella and Ervin Fowlkes, who lovingly raised him and shaped the man he became. Though his life began in Louisiana, Kansas City quickly became his true home, where he lived his childhood, built his adult life, and created lasting memories with family and friends.

A proud United States Air Force veteran, Mitch served his country with honor and dedication. His commitment to excellence continued throughout his life—he was highly educated and a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., an organization whose values of scholarship, leadership, and service he deeply embodied.

Mitch was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Ardella and Ervin Fowlkes; his biological father Richard, biological mother, Clara Guillory; his stepfather, Leroy Guillory; his biological brother, Clay Guillory; and his adoptive sister, Linda McCallop, Richard Jr, Tyrone Leslie Fowlkes.

A man known for his loyalty, warmth, and unwavering spirit, Mitch was a devoted lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. His passion for the team brought joy to gatherings, and his celebratory energy was something those around him looked forward to every season.

Mitch leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold his memory close. He leaves behind to mourn a niece, Lori Simmons of Kansas City; His siblings: Michael Davis of Houston, Texas,  Sandra Pete of Lansing, Michigan; Loretta Minniefield of Ruston, Louisiana; Geraldine Davis of Lake Charles; Cheryl Bailey of Houston, Texas; Ernie Davis of California; and Kenneth Guillory of Lake Charles, Melanie LaVergne, Deidre King (James), Danetta Arvie and Elwyn Fowlkes all of Lake Charles, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and the love he so freely gave.

Mitch's life was one of service, quiet strength, resilience, and deep connection. He will be remembered as a man who loved deeply, lived proudly, and left an enduring legacy on every heart he touched.
