Najwa Hilema McGrone was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 19, 1983 to Carol McGrone and Henry Preston.  The McGrone, Flowers, and Rogers moved to Kansas City a few decades ago, from Mississippi, before she was born.

She accepted Jesus Christ, as her personal Savior, at an early age and was baptized at Bread of Life Church.

Najwa was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools.  She graduated from Central High School.  She attended Penn Valley Community College and received both her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licenses.

She worked at North Kansas City Hospital and other Nursing Homes.  She had a passion for helping people.  She loved elderly people.  She loved music and spending time with family.

She departed this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lillian Rogers and her uncle Calvin McGrone.

Ms. Najwa McGrone leaves to cherish her memories her loving mother, Carol McGrone; fou sons, Karim McGrone, Lorenzo White, Brennon White, and Clifton Liggins, Jr.; and one daughter, Miyata-Najwa Liggins; one brother, Rasul McGrone; one sister, Jamilah Glasco (McGrone); and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services Ms. McGrone will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday September 1, 2022 at E.S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the chapel.
