Ps. Nicole Hill, devoted servant and anointed worshipper of Jesus Christ, beloved wife, mother, Ni’ma, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully stepped into glory on September 30th, 2026, while she was surrounded by her family and friends.
Nicole Hill was born Ede Nicole Sesley to Edward Sesley and Alberta Clark in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 27th, 1967. Nicole was the couple’s second child and only daughter. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and older brother, David. She graduated from Grandview High School in 1985. Nicole was known for her strong personality and skills on the basketball court. From 14 years old until graduating high school, Nicole lived with her godmother, Brenda and the Wesley family. They were an answered prayer to one another. Nicole was the daughter Brenda always wanted. She came to Christ at an early age, and Nicole spent her life diligently serving her Savior.
Nicole completed some college but was naturally gifted with numbers. She was a savvy businesswoman with great instincts. Before becoming a pastor at Sheffield Family Life Center, she worked at Cargill in their purchasing department and as a part-time waitress at Waffle House. Nicole began at Sheffield as a part-time choir director, a position that she loved. For many years, she helped to write songs, record albums, tour, and grow the choir to over 100 members. Nicole joined the staff full-time and spent over 20 years as a pastor at Sheffield. She was most recently elevated from Chief Operating Officer to Executive Pastor.
Nicole met the love of her life, Jeffery Wayne Hill, and they married on May 20th, 1989. Nicole and Jeffery’s 37-year union blessed them with two sons, Jeffery Wayne Hill Jr. (1990) and Christian Albert Hill (1996). First as a couple, then as a family, they used their musical gifts to serve God together.
Nicole loved her family, taking great delight in her grandchildren, Yemaya and Saint. She loved her church family. Nicole also had a love for cooking and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed learning new techniques and recipes from food channels and videos. A huge fan of college basketball, Nicole loved cheering on the KU Jayhawks. During football season, she loved watching her Chiefs.
Nicole leaves behind to mourn her passing her loving husband, Jeffery Wayne Hill Sr.; her eldest son, Jeffery Wayne Hill Jr.; youngest son, Christian Albert Hill; her granddaughter, Yemaya Zenede Hill; her grandson, Saint Christian Hill; her God-given mother, Brenda Shaw; her God-given daughters, Alexis McCoy, Lauren Hill, Keisha Keeling; her younger brother, Danielle Sesley (Jennifer); her God-given sister; Earnestine White; her best friend of many years, Denise Webb; extended family; and church family.
