Novella Atkinson Edwards was born on June 18, 1979 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Noble and Addie Atkinson. She was the youngest of six children, having three brothers and two sisters.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents.

Novella attended East High School in the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  After high school, she worked various jobs.  Her job she enjoyed the most was being a bartender and receptionist at Oakwood Country Club.

Novella eventually met Allen Edwards.  To this union, five children were born. She was the mother of three sons and two daughters.  To be unique with her children, all of her children's name were intentionally started with "NO".

It says that the first shall be last, and the last shall be first. The last of six for Addie and Noble, and the first to answer the call to get her crown.

Novella was a professional driver, from the rising and setting of the sun, she drove. She loved to smile, to cook, to decorate, to do hair and make-up, to dress everyone and anyone, to take pictures, anything related to family and friends. She loved to fish especially for Croppies.  She did not like catching catfish. She loved eating gumbo.

Despite her sunshine and clouds in life, Novella loved everyone and was quick to forgive, always willing to listen, and if needed, give advice.

Novella leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Allen Edwards; three sons: Nobarie Edwards, Noell Atkinsons, and Novell Atkinsons; two daughters: Nobella Atkinson and NoShaiah Atkinsons; three brothers: Isaiah Magitt, Luke Magitt, and Telly Magitt; two sisters: Junie Suggs (Ronell) and Annie Magitt: and a host of relatives, friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edwards will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at E.S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Private disposition.  Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the chapel.
