Mr. Odell Rice, Jr., age 73, departed his earthly journey into glory on Monday, December 21 ^st in Kansas City, Missouri.  Born August 28, 1947 to the late O'Dell Rice, Sr. and Agnes Rice in Kansas City, Missouri and was the oldest of six siblings.

He is preceded in death by his father O'Dell Rice, Sr., mother Agnes Rice, wife Ruby Rice, son Timothy Rice, son Gerald Rice, brothers Charles Rice, David Rice, Robert Rice.

Mr. Odell Rice accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a child and was a member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years.  He graduated from Central High School in Kansas City in 1965.  After a year of courtship, Odell later married the late Ruby Mae Smith which later turned into Ruby Rice on November 5, 1967.

Odell was a devoted husband and father and he, along with Ruby, left eight grandchildren together:  Antonio Higgins, Devante Rice, Dell M. Rice, Gabriel Hayes, Jasmine Rice, Daishana Rice, Gerald Rice, Jr., and Tanesha Bell.

Odell served in the Air Force, and upon leaving the Air Force, he pursued a life in the world of broadcast radio for the popular radio stations Hot 103.3FM and 107.3FM in Kansas City, Missouri.

He leaves to forever cherish his precious memory love and celebration:  his children, Alonzo Rice, Dell L. Rice, LaVenia D. Rice, Felicia D. Rice, and Ophiellia Rice; brothers, Tommy Rice and Bruce Rice.

Service for Mr. Rice will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 2, 2021.  Burial at XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
