Ola Mae Rivers, 85 years old, passed away on September 10, 2020, at her home in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by her family and friends.  She was the only child born to Bessie O'Neal on February 6, 1935, in Boonville, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by her mom, husband, Calvin and her eldest daughter, Phyllis Elaine.

At an early age, Ola Mae was raised by her grandmother, Josephine Baker-O'neal.  She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended Lincoln High School.

In her early years, Ola Mae was employed at various hotels and hospitals in the Kansas City Area.  When you think of Ola Mae, the first thing that comes to mind is how she enjoyed spending time with her late husband and being surrounded by her family & friends, while listening to some of favorite music, dancing and sharing memories.  She loved sitting on her front porch, laughing and socializing while having her grandchildren run into the house and grab one of her favorite drinks from her fridge on the "Back Porch."

As her health declined, Ola Mae wanted to make sure that she was comfortable at home, continuing to enjoy her morning coffee and reading her daily newspaper.

Ola Mae leaves to cherish her memories with: her children, Carol Dale, Pamela Dale, Charles Dale, Jr., Sharon McDonald (Edrick), Phillip Dale, Penny McCant (Myron) and Anthony Dale Sr., all of the City, a host of cousins, 16 granchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-granchildren and several other relatives and friends not mentioned, nor have been forgotten.  At last, she leaves behind her Dear and Special Long-Term Friend, Remonia Jean Davis.  Ola Mae Rivers will be Greatly Missed.

Services for Mrs. Rivers will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, September 20, 2020, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until service time Sunday at the chapel.
