If you didn't know, sit down and pay attention.  I am the OPAL KELLY.  I was born to Suzanna West and Jesse Craig back on December 2, 1938, in Eufala, Oklahoma.  For the next few years that's where I spent my young adulthood; as I was never a child.

I attended and graduated knowing I was the smartest one there and me being me I knew Eufala couldn't handle me.  So I pack my bags with my daughter, Norma in tow and headed for the windy city of Chicago, IL.  While in Chicago I met and married my first husband, Leslie Newman.  I also acquired a wonderful young lady who became my forever daughter, Deeda Irene Newman.

Then me being me Leslie quickly learned he couldn't handle me, so I moved on to Kansas City, MO, where I was able to meet and marry the love of my life a God fearing, tall, fine Neopoleon Kelly Mm mm is what I'd say.

After a few years, we moved to Morris, OK where that fine husband of mine built us a house twice because the first one burned down.  After about 10 years we headed back to Kansas City, where Poleon bought and drove dump truck; in turn I had to carry around brakes, oil and seals in my clean New Cadillac.  Then after a few years of being a seamstress Poleon said "Doll" you don't have to work no more, so I didn't.

After seeing the retirement life we were blessed with Thing 1 and Thing 2 also known as Brandon and Micheal Kelly.  We raised the boys and got them out of our house in 2003.

There you have it for all you nosey people this is a rare glimpse into the mysterious life of me, Opal Kelly.

I was preceded in death by my husband, Neopoleon Kelly and daughter, Norma Paige Hood.

I leave behind on this earth to carry on my legacy a host of grand, great-grand, great-great-grandchildren; friends, family and loved ones.

Services for Mrs. Kelly were held Saturday, February 22, 2020, at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial Brooking Cemetery.
