Laurence Capelle Clark, was the fourth child born to the union of Elder Lilbon H. Clark, Jr. and Piccola C. Clark (Fanniel) on May 21, 1957. Affectionately known as Larry, he grew up a very curious and imaginative young man. Enjoying music and sports, Larry was a member of Central High School's band and football program.  He later attended University of Arizona.  His pastimes included fishing, hunting and traveling. He also sang and played many musical instruments.

Returning to Kansas City, Larry began a career of over the road driving. During that career, he accrued over 3 million miles collectively.  In 1982, while over the road, he was involved in a devastating, near death trucking accident. After an arduous road to recovery, he became more involved in church and seeking the Lord.   Larry was soon called into the ministry and was mentored by his grandfather, L.H. Clark Sr. (Martin Temple) and father, L.H. Clark Jr. (Wright Memorial).  Larry by now was known as L.C. and drove tour busses for Kincaid Coach Lines and Sunset Tours, to name a few.  He also established his own touring company, KC Motor Coach. Laurence C. Clark was installed as pastor of Wright Memorial Church of God in Christ on December 23, 2005, by Bishop Emmanuel Newton, where he pastored 16 years until his end of life.  He was a supporter of the VM Barker District and the Missouri Western First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ as well as the Sunday School Superintendent. L.C. joined Kansas City Police Department as a 911 operator and retired as the Communications Supervisor after 22 years. He returned to his love of driving at KCATA/Metro, where he was employed at the end of life.

Larry's family life included him being father to 2 boys before he met Linda Osborn. Larry married Linda, who brought into the union 6 girls.  Larry, often referred to as the "Gentle Giant", could fill a room with his booming laughter, soft speech, mild and direct manner. He was a man of integrity, his word was his bond, He never met a stranger and all who came in contact with him were left with a lasting impression.   Larry was the ever present, sound advice giving,  just a call away, shoulder to cry on or soothe the most inconsolable crying baby, God fearing,  protective, stand up,  loving,  gentle, and all around great husband, father, brother, uncle, hero and friend. He will be sorely missed by his immediate family, church home, Clergymen, KCPD, KCATA and extended family.

Laurence C. Clark was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and sister, Piccola Yvonne Davis.

He leaves to mourn: his wife, Linda Clark of the home; children, Aretha Turner (Demetrius) of Wylie, TX; Tonia Henderson, Arlisa Osborn of Kansas City, Lamonte Johnson (Christine) of Belton, MO, Arkenya Osborn of Kansas City, Christopher Clark of Kansas, Arlynda Osborn of Cedar Hill, TX, Arlaysha Osborn of Kansas City; siblings, Lilbon H. Clark III (Fran) of Willmar, MN, Sandra Boykins of Kansas City; aunts, Armenta Thomas of Lancaster, CA, LaVergne Williams of Los Angeles, CA; 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Services for Pastor Clark were held Saturday, November 13, 2021, Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C.  Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.
