Patrice Lorraine Cleaver, affectionately known as "Puggy", was born from the union of Teresa Moore and Thomas Moore, Sr. on August 10, 1959.

At a young age, she made the decision to devote her life to Christ, and has been a committed lifelong member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.

In 1976, she graduated from Southeast High School.  She was last employed as a home health aide, lending her love and care to those who could not care for themselves before retiring.

Through separate unions, Terea Krishaun Cleaver, Summer Nicole Cleaver, and Amber Patrice Cleaver were born.  As a mother of three daughters, she provided a strong foundation in faith for her children, making sure that they knew God and the power of prayer.  She never took a car ride without first praying to God, "Lord please be with me and my children." She showed her love by doing, and in the earlier days, that meant cooking. She loved to cook and often was the host of family holiday dinners. Her specialties included lasagna and macaroni and cheese, and she was often tasked by family and friends to prepare those favorite dishes.

She was a grandmother to three boys, all of whom she loved dearly.  To them they were Nema and to her, they were her world. She had a special bond with her grandsons, that was sealed with the sweet songs she sang to them as babies and the special treats they shared just between them as they grew older.  She never failed to let them know how much she loved them and how proud she was of all of their accomplishments.

She is preceded in death by Charlie Tooten, Jr. and Jerry Lee Powell; her father Thomas Moore, Sr.; her grandparents Easter Mae Henderson ("G-Gran") and Arthur Henderson ("Fella"), her grandson Skyler Chase Waldon, her brother Thomas Moore, Jr. ("Tommy"), and her sister Tarla G. Moore.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother Teresa Carson; her children Terea Krishaun Cleaver, Summer Nicole Cleaver, and Amber Patrice Cleaver; her grandchildren Daymond Jerrel Riggs, II, and Xavier Karl-Henri Joseph; her brothers Johnny Moore and Alvin Ray Carson; her nieces Ty'Isha Rashaun Moore, Ty'Lisha Renee Summers (Kiley Summers), Ce'arria Carson, and Jayvon Carson; and her nephew Alex Carson.  She also leaves behind a special cousin Farida Amber Simmons, a host of bonus daughters and sons, relatives, and friends.

Services for Ms. Cleaver will be held 12:00 P. M. Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church.  Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the church.
