Pinkie Bolden McLemore was born April 2, 1919, in Tyler, Texas to Charles Henry Bolden and Mary Alice Polk.  She was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Renford and Buford Bolden; two sisters, Almesha Terry and Ruby Fields; two nephews, Nuree Terry and David Martin and two children, Alice McLemore Martin and Kerry Handy.  Her husband also preceded her in death.

Pinky was educated in Tyler and was the Valedictorian of her class.  She went on to attend Jarvis Christian College in Hawking's, TX.

She began playing piano at age 16 and was the pianist for North Star Baptist Church and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Tyler.  In Missouri she played for South Side Baptist and New Hope Baptist Church on the West side.  Until her retirement from playing she was the pianist for Beacon Hill Church of The Nazarene.  She had some 80 years of music ministry that she shared with everyone whom she met.

Pinky was employed until her first retirement at American Wiper Mills as a machinist.  She then worked with the elderly at the Sugarland, TX Nursing Home and then became a Nanny for families in Texas.  Pinkie also became excellent in Ceramics and created many beautiful and wonderful pieces.

Pinky departed this earthly life on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, in Kanas City, MO.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Clarence McLemore, Minnie Fields, Timothy McLemore, Sonja Potter, Nola Warmate, Sandra Dukes, Larry Handy, Kevin Handy, Nathan Handy and Barbara McDaniel; 40 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; Margarine Terry and the Terry children of Garland, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. McLemore were held Monday, October 7, 2019, at Beacon Hill Church of The Nazarene.  Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.
