Rachel L. Morris was born on August 28, 1934 to the union of Ralph Pryor and Ruby Shockley-Pryor in Inman, Tennessee.  She was the second of two children born to this union.  Rachel was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph Pryor and Ruby Pryor; sister, Florence Turner; a daughter, Terri Morris and a granddaughter, Leah Morris.

Rachel received her early education in the Inman, Tennessee School District and the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  After high school, she worked various jobs during her work career, completing her career working 27 years as a contract worker in the VA Medical Center.

Rachel married Robert L. Morris in 1951.  There were four children born to this union, Robert L. Morris, Jr., Judy Patton, Terri Morris, and Ronnie Morris.  This marriage was later dissolved.

She was the bright spot in many lives, often giving her last possessions to others.  She was called "Mom" by many, along with the name "Aunt Rachel."  She loved going to gospel concerts, cooking and traveling.

Rachel entered into eternity on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Judy Patton of KCMO; two sons Ronnie Morris of Chillicothe, MO and Robert L. Morris, Jr. of Long Beach, CA; seven grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Morris will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 31, 2019, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Friday at the chapel.
