Render Murrell was born in Eudora, Arkansas, on November 7, 1945.  He was one of nine children born to Willie Murrell and Keithsy Royal Murrell and adopted parents, Mariah Royal King and Earnest King.

Render is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Willie Murrell, Jr. and Alvin Murrell; four sisters, Hazel Halley, Suzanna Murrell, Tomma Sean Moses, and Ruby White.

Render attended East Side High School in Eudora, Arkansas.  He loved basketball!  He helped his team win a state championship.  Render earned a basketball scholarship to Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas.  While there, he earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration.  In 1966, after his second year in college, Render was drafted into the United States Army and sent to Vietnam.

Render met the love of his life, Betty Dixon Murrell, and married on November 7, 1969, to the present.  They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage and were blessed with three children.

Render worked in various places before being employed by the United States Postal Service, where he retired after 42 years.

Render loved God! He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and lived a life of devotion to God.  Render was a devoted father.  He believed in the promises of God, and he passed his faith on to his children.

Render went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2025.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Betty Dixon Murrell; one daughter, Brenda Murrell Carnes; two sons, Reginald Murrell (Kimberly) and Render Murrell, II; one brother, Andrew Murrell (Martha); one sister, Linda Murrell Morris (Frank); ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, fellow saints, and friends.
