Reuben Donald Henry aka "Donnie" was born on September 13, 1957, to the union of Charles and Nancy P. Henry in Kansas City, MO at Truman Hospital. He was the fourth of five siblings.

A Time to Plant

Donnie confessed Christ and was baptized on Sunday, October 8, 2017, by Rev. Louis Sipple, Pastor of Timothy Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas.  The whole family was there to celebrate this long-time coming event.

Donnie graduated from the Central Senior High School class of 1976. He started his journey as an Environmental Specialists at Children's Mercy and continued that career path for the next thirteen years.  Donnie had his own lawn service and loved doing demolition work until his health began to fail.

Donnie's nickname was "Don Juan" and oh boy did he try to live up to his name. Donnie was a Casanova. In his younger years he spent most of his Sundays doing what he loved the most, which was skating and riding around in that 1969 Thunderbird.  In his later years, he spent his Sundays listening to his old school jams and watching the Chiefs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and telling his nieces and nephews all about his escapades, from partying to winning at dominos and spades. Donnie was the two-stepping king. But his greatest joy was his only daughter Donnesha. Whenever he spoke about her his face would light up, he was so proud of her.

Donnie was a jokester, he always had a quick comeback and never failed to leave you in stitches. No matter his health struggles, he always remained in good spirits.

A Time to Die

Donnie departed this life on January 4, 2024. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Nancy Henry, brother Erwin Henry, sister Rhonda Henry, nephews, Darrell Henry, Charley Rivera, and Daniel Rivera.

A Time to Mourn

Donnie leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Donnesha Walker (Kenyon) Raytown, MO; one brother, Charles Henry (Lupie) Kansas City, MO; one sister Glyndia Lang (Jerry) Kansas City, MO; one sister-in-law, Vonda Henry (Erwin) Churchland, VA; two grandchildren Daunte' Walker and Key'Eira Walker of Raytown, MO; a host of nieces, one nephew, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
