Richard Leon Edwards II, went to Heaven at the age of 32.  He was a talented artist who leaves behind his parents, Daryle Edwards and Dena Odom; and his loving sister, Daphany Edwards, who all loved him more than words can express.

He graduated high school from Kansas School for the Deaf in 2007 and attended Johnson County Community College for Art.  Richard worked for Hy-Vee and FedEx before beginning his career at MoDot in Lee's Summit.  He prided himself in working hard at MoDot.  He would help anyone that needed it.

He was known for his enormous heart and his contagious smile.  He enjoyed traveling, going to Car & Monster Truck Shows and watching his favorite team play, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Richard was featured in a college textbook at the mere age of 18 months.  In high school, at KSD, he played football, basketball and ran track.  His artwork has been displayed at Johnson County Community College, featured in the Kansas City Star and is currently featured at the Deaf Culture Center in Olathe, Kansas.

Richard was a member of the Deaf Liberty Baptist Church in Overland Park, Kansas where he participated on the church's baseball team.  Richard made friends everywhere he went.  His friends often called him R2, Rizzy and Ricky.

Services for Mr. Edwards will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel North.  Private Disposition.  Friends may call 9:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
