Richard Allen Burtin , affectionately known as "Gucci", was born November 29th, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the union of Theodore U. Burtin, Sr. and Mary F. Burtin.  He was a man known for the love of faith, family, and service. He was the beloved son who touched so many lives.

Richard was full of life, full of love, and he had the biggest heart.  His laughter was contagious bringing excitement and warmth to those around him

He attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, with an interest in Fashion Design, but realized college wasn't for him.  He told his parents "that was too many classes to take."  Later he found his passion as an entrepreneur and he started, Gucci trucking company until his health declined in 2017. From 2017 – 2022 he worked as a Professional Chauffeur taking clients to and from the airport.  His fondest memories as a Chauffeur was the day he met Morris Day and Kate Spade.

On June 20, 1998, Richard was united in marriage to Lisa F. Wilson, from this union, they had two handsome boys, whom he treasured. Richard Allen Burtin, II and Deon Shawn Burtin.  His boys were his greatest accomplishment and the center of his world.  He was married to Lisa for 28 years until his passing.  Richard had a natural talent for fashion and design.  He even designed His wife's wedding bridal veil and gown.  During his children's early years, they were always dressed from head to toe during Sunday morning service.

Faith and Legacy, Richard accepted Christ at an early age. He was Baptized in 1973 at Friendship Baptist Church under the late Pastor I.H. Henderson, Jr. He participated in a variety of ministries including the Usher Board and the Nursery.  He loved them babies.   He was deeply rooted in his faith, and his faith in God never wavered.  He loved his Friendship family especially, his current Pastor James A. Terrance, Jr. of Friendship Baptist Church, Mrs. Terrance and their lovely boys, Jalen and Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore U Burtin, Sr. and Mary Foster Burtin.

He leaves to forever cherish his memories, his devoted, loving wife, Lisa F. Burtin, who stood by him through every season of his life; his sons, Richard A. Burtin, II, Wichita, KS and Deon Burtin, Kansas City, MO; siblings, Theodore Burtin, Jr. (Marquetta), Deloris Burtin, both of Kansas City, MO and Mary Burtin Cook of Katy, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and the entire Friendship Baptist Church Family.
