Richard (Harry) Kimbrew, 83, departed this life on February 19, 2020, at The Groves Retirement Community in Independence, MO. He was born September 27, 1936, in Midnight, Mississippi to Ms. Willetta Kimber. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willetta Kimber and one brother, Frank Kimber.

Harry accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age in Mississippi. Harry attended schools in the Mississippi School Districts. Harry relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in the early 1980's where he worked various jobs throughout Kansas City. Harry also served as a deacon in several churches in Kansas City. Currently, he was a member of Transfiguration Christ Church.

Harry enjoyed traveling and he loved gospel music; one of his favorite songs to sing was "By the Grace." It was a song that was humorous to hear because he would always mix up the words or better yet remix the song. Harry enjoyed his family. He introduced and taught most of his family how to play the card game: "Pitty Pat." Harry was a prankster and quite comical. He would always mimic other people. He enjoyed fishing and he liked to watch WWE Raw (wrestling) while talking on the phone with his late Aunt Ellen. He will be deeply missed.

Harry leaves to cherish his memory: one brother, Albert Kimber of Indianola, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins and friends all over the country. Also, to cherish his memory is his very special friend; Carla Davis of Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Services for Mr. Kimbrew will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Transfiguration of Christ Church.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
