Robert Weaver was born on December 26, 1932, to the union of Lawrence and Sarah Louise Weaver in Kansas City, MO.  He was the third of seven children.  He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School.  Robert served in the United States Army for three years as an Administrative Clerk during the Korean War.

After returning from the war, Robert came home and married his sweetheart Alice Louise Strong on October 19, 1955, and to this union were added three children, Mark, Robin, and Susan.

Robert went to school to learn the auto mechanic trade, while working for Hallmark Cards.  Following this, he worked for Bendix Corporation, Gustin Bacon Fiberglass Company, and General Motors, from which he retired after 38 years of faithful service working in various departments.  Robert was a skilled tradesman in many areas, and it seemed like there wasn't anything that he couldn't repair.

Robert had a great love for fishing, and the family enjoyed many days out on the fish banks throughout the state of Missouri.  He was a strong advocate of education, and always wanted to see his children and grandchildren excel in their education.  An avid reader, he could be found with more than one book being read at the same time. One of his favorite movie actors was John Wayne, no matter what movie it was.  Westerns and war movies were always a hit with him.

Robert accepted Jesus as Lord at an early age and was a member of St. Andrews AME Church Kansas City, MO, until his marriage to Alice.  They were members of Pleasant Green Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS, True Victory Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS, where he was ordained as a Deacon. Lastly, they placed their membership at Macedonia Baptist Church, Kansas City, MO, serving until his demise.  He was a man who loved the Lord and the church, always ready to help when help was needed, no matter what the church activity. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Alice; his children, Mark (Naomi), Robin Perkins (James), and Susan; a host of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his sister, Margaret Jo McElroy (LeVon); brother and sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Lawrence Jr. and Frank; and sisters, Mary Thomas, Francis Porter, and Barbara Conway.
