Rodney McClinton,  son of Carrie McClinton, was born on April 16, 1969 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was the 3rd of 4 children.  His mother preceded him in death.

Rodney received his education in the Kansas City Public School System and graduated from Southwest High School.  He was employed at Commerce Bank where he was a dutiful Accounting Clerk for 24 years.

Rodney gave his life to God at an early age.  He was baptized and remained a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church.  As a child he was involved in the Jr. Laymen and Mission group. In later years he was a member of Gad Sheepfold and served as secretary for Sunday School Class Number 13.

Rodney enjoyed baking cakes and was a huge movie fan.  You could always rely on him for the latest updates regarding your favorite television show or movie release.  He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.  Rodney loved all genre's of music and one of his favorite was Gospel music.  He routinely provided a Sunday playlist of Gospel music to family and friends on Facebook.  Rodney was an excellent activity planner and an active member of the Davis Family Club.  He always provided great ideas regarding events such as the annual Family Picnic.  He enjoyed socializing with both family and friends.

Rodney was a quiet person and a faithful and loyal friend.  His presence will be missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory: three brothers, Micheal Davis and Myron Davis of Kansas City, Mo and Mark McClinton of North Carolina., two Aunts, Ruth Dotson and V-Ethel Davis and one Uncle Deacon Eddie Davis (Cathey) of Kansas City, Mo, two nieces Patrice Davis and Danielle Davis,  one nephew Micheal Davis all of Kansas City, MO, special family friend Yolanda Taylor, a host of cousins, other close relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. McClinton will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 9, 2020, at Friendship Baptist Church.  Burial Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Friday at the church.
