Rodney Eugene "Treetop" Cheadle was born September 5, 1954, in Kansas City, MO.  He was the fourth of eight siblings born to the union of Elmer and Beverly (Walls) Cheadle.  His father, grandparents, brothers, Elmer Jr., Robert Sr., William Stanley & Terence, along with sisters, Sandra & Judith preceded him in death.

Rodney received his general education in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District and was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp.

As a child, he was an active member in the youth department at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor AM Hudson.  He gave his life to Jesus Christ in 2016, at St. Luke Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the pastoral leadership of Elder Michael C. Warren.

On February 6, 2010, with family & friends as witnesses, Rodney conferred his love for Stacie Lynette Roper and took her as his wife.  He remained faithful and committed to her until the Lord decided to call him home.

"Treetop" had a passion for cooking.  He enjoyed entertaining his loved ones with music, cards, dominos and his amazing skills in the kitchen and on the grill! The smile that he'd display from watching them enjoy his dishes was priceless! He dreamed to one day own a restaurant.

In recent weeks, Rodney became very ill.  He fought a good fight.  On Wednesday May 13, 2020, at 1:02 P.M. at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO the Lord showed him favor and called him home to be at peace.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his loving and devoted wife, Stacie Lynn; his mother, Beverly Cheadle; brother, Kevin (Cheryl) Cheadle; his only daughter, LaKisha Cravens; sons, Rodney Cheadle Jr., Jalen Cheadle, DaQuon Cheadle and Daron Cheadle; step-son, Darrius Payne; step-daughter, I'Brianna Moore; 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, Family and friends!!!!

Service for Mr. Cheadle will be held 5:00 P.M., Friday, May 22, 2020, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.   Private Disposition.  Visitation 4:00 to 5:00 P. M. Friday at the chapel.
