Ronnie Grady, Sr. was born May 6, 1951, to Elijah Grady, Sr. and Ozell Grady in Douglas, Georgia. He was preceded in death by both parents; both sets of grandparents, brother, Elijah Grady, Jr.; and daughter, Shonelle V. Johnson.

Ronnie accepted Christ at a young age. He attended Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church and later True Vine Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. He was educated in Kansas City and graduated from Paseo High School in 1969.

After graduation, he enlisted under the Buddy Program into the U. S. Navy in 1969 with his dear friend George King, Jr. On returning, after his 4 years, he worked with his father in the family construction business for years. He also joined the National Guard for 17 years and attended DeVry University. Ronnie worked for Hallmark Cards, GMAC, and recently transported vehicles for Enterprise Leasing Corporation.

He lived his life the way he wanted and enjoyed it to the fullest. As a young man, he accepted Christ.  He was a good athlete. He loved baseball, basketball, and could run like a jackrabbit. He loved and was loved by his family and friends. He was soft-spoken "but would speak his mind." He was a kind-hearted person to his family and friends. He would help anyone who needed help! He was well-liked and loved by everyone who crossed his path. When anyone needed help, not just family, they would call Ronnie Grady and he was coming. He might not have been on time, but he was coming.

Ronnie Grady, Sr. died on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at KU Medical Center.

Ronnie is survived by his son, Ronnie Steven Grady; sister, Wanda Edgar Brown (Fort Worth, TX); nephew, Darrell Grady; daughter, Tayon Davis; and eight grandchildren; and a host and relatives and friends.
