Ruby Nell Hill was born June 26, 1936, to the union of Rosie Lee Walker Hill & Gaither Hill in Roseland, Arkansas. She was the 8 ^th child born to this union.

Ruby was baptized at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Victoria, Arkansas under Pastor Rev. Earl Davis. After the family moved to Frenchman's Bayou, Arkansas, she united with First Baptist Church Frenchman's Bayou.

Ruby attended Victoria Public School, Victoria, Arkansas, J.M. Speck School Frenchman's Bayou, Arkansas. Woodstock High School Shelby County Tennessee and graduated from William R. Golden High School in Turrell, Arkansas.

She united in Holy Matrimony to Eddie Williams Jr. on April 8, 1956, and they moved to Kansas City, MO in 1959.

They united with the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas where she served in many capacities including Church Clerk. She was active in Sunday School and the Missionary Circle.

She later united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO under Rev. James Terrence Jr. where she was active in Sunday School and the Missionary Circle.

She relocated to Roanoke, Texas to live with her daughter and united with the Friendship Baptist Church of the Colony under Rev. Gregory Trotter and was an avid member of Sunday School which she loved.

She worked as a Hostess for Putsch's Cafeteria on the Plaza and Myron Green Cafeteria in downtown Kansas City, MO. She then worked for and retired from Commerce Bank in downtown Kansas City, MO.

During her retirement years, she worked with Children's Mercy Hospital Grandparents Organization in the Children's Cancer Ward. She also worked as a classroom aid at the Tolbert Academy Charter School.

Ruby's ministry was one of outreach. She loved to connect and speak with people to see how they were doing, just to say hello or I missed you at church today! She kept her phone book and family reunion Memorial books by her side so as she went throughout her day and felt the need to call someone, that number was just a fingertip away.  She loved her family and friends and had the gift of remembering family birthdays and anniversaries.

Ruby Nell Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Williams Jr.; son, Milton Williams; Grandson, Derron McCann; and parents Rosie Lee Walker Hill & Gaither Hill; f our brothers, Freddie B. Hill, Frank Hill, Robert Hill, and RJ (Pete) Hill; t hree sisters, Rozena Hannah, Ollie Mae Donerson and Betty Williams; t hree brother -in-laws, Roosevelt Dixon, Elige Campbell, Halbert Hannah; f our sisters-in-law, Catherine Hill, Mary Hill, Geneva Hill, and Verneta Hill.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kelvin William (Rhonda) and Cheryl Williams; g randchildren, Tamika Nelson, Eboney Owens (Tyson), LeQuisha Ramsey, Derron Johnson, Jordan Bowen and Kelvin Williams, Jr.; g reat grandchildren, Kierra Ramsey, Cirron Nelson, Arron Nelson Jr., Jiovana Cintron and Aiden Tobiason; t hree brothers, T.W. Hill of Memphis TN, Lawrence (Barbara) Hill of Oak Park, MI, Richard (Betty) Hill of Osceola, AR; one brother-in-law, Lee Williams of Saginaw, MI; one sister, Murline Hayes of Kansas City, MO; two sisters-in-law, Hope Hill of Kansas City, MO and Odellia Hill of Savannah, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who love and will miss her calls, smile and laughter.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Williams will be held at Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00AM at E. S. Eley and Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Forest Hill and Calvary Cemetery.  Friends may call from 8:00AM until service time at the chapel.
