Sadie Beatrice Shelby was born August 12, 1946, in Altheimer, Arkansas to Lucy Lockett.  She attended school in Sherrell, Arkansas.  Later the family moved to Kansas City, MO where she attended Wendell Phillips and graduated from Central High School.

Sadie was a member of Spruce St. Matthews Baptist Church.  She loved the Lord, family and getting on the Scripture Shower on KPRT Radio.

Later in life Sadie met and married Steve Shelby.  Steve served in World War II.

Sadie departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 31, 2022, in Kansas City, Missouri.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Dana McCoy, Keenan Trent, Linda (Norman) Brown, Diane (John) Howard), Billy Shelby, Joseph Shelby, Mashell Flowers, Bertha Shelby, Tom Shelby and Steve Shelby and a host of other relatives and friends.

Burial for Mrs. Shelby will be held 11AM at Leavenworth National Cemetery..
