Samuel Lee Jordan was born on November 4, 1940, in Columbia, Louisiana to the union of Wiley and Annie Jordan. He was one of twelve children born into this union. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Zada Jordan; four brothers, Savanna, Wiley, Jr. Lonnie, and Joe Elam; and six sisters, Olivia, Retha, Molly, Alice, Maurice, and Irene.

Samuel received his education in the Columbia, Louisiana School District. He graduated from Union Central Station High School.

After high school, he moved to Kansas City, Missouri.

Samue l met and married the love of his life, Zada.  To this union, two children were born.

Samuel loved listening to music. His favorite genre was Praise & Worship music and Blues. He, also, loved Western movies, building and fixing things around the house, and going to the Swap and Shop on early weekend mornings.

Samuel is survived by his son, Sammy Jordan; his daughter, Shalise Washington; four grandchildren, Tiarra Kidd, Kivionne Washington, Jerry "Alex" Washington (Lanese), and Judeah Washington; seven great grandchildren, Corielle Rodiquez, Corlaya Rodriquez, TaZanna Rodriquez, TiNiya Rodriquez, Zoe Washington, Zachariah Washington, and Ziya Washington; two sisters, Anita and Clarice; and a host of other relatives and friends.
