Sherron Kae Ross Jones' Obituary
Sherron Kae Ross Jones, 48, of Kansas City, MO, passed away October 10, 2018, at her home while under St. Luke Hospital Hospice Care, as a result of a long-illness.
Sherron was born May 13, 1970, to Willie Ross Jr. and Maxine Willis. She was the fifth child of 5 siblings. She attended J. J. Pershing Elementary, Liberty Junior High, Southeast Jr. High School, Ruskin High School 1985-1987, graduating from Southeast High School in 1991. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She joined Gregg Tabernacle A.M.E. Church, September 6, 2015. Preceding her in death, both parents: Willie Ross Jr., and Maxine Willis; brother, Darren Lee Ross and a sister, Taymanee Danielle Ross.
Sherron worked at several places: House of Lloyd, 1986-99, Food City/Thriftway, Buy Rite, Hornbeck Thriftway, Midland Hardware, Westlake Hardware, Laidlaw/Mayflower/Rider, Advisory Financial Group, and Browns Catalog. She held a CDL, and earned several credit hours in Automotive Mechanic certificate, accounting and medical assistance.
Sherron was an entrepreneur; she was self-employed Minor Home Repair and All the House. She was very instrumental in her sister's ministry in repairing, renovating; and providing minor repairs for many of the churches her sister served. In addition, her skills were used greatly in metropolitan Kansas City, in providing home repair for senior citizens and helping others.
She was very skilled in using her hands. Sherron loved to do hair, automotive, minor repair, helping others and gift baskets. She was always willing to do what she could to make others happy. As a child, Sherron was the peacemaker and caused her older siblings to get back on track when there was disagreement. She loved her grandchildren, and each one of them held a special place in her heart. As a young mother, she always held an open relationship with her adult children. Her children were able to talk to her about anything. She was very fond of family, and many respected her as a mother figure.
Her favorite colors were blue and orange. She enjoyed R&B Blues and Jazz, Old School music, and owned several Cadillac throughout the years. Her favorite food was tacos, and getting away anywhere was her favorite place.
She leaves the mourn: four children, Alyssea M. Walker, Willie Ross III, DeRon Walker and LeRon Walker; brother, Michael Ross; sister, Rev. Dr. Eraina Aseme (Patrick); eleven grandchildren, Zxavion, Deshaye, Lamya, Malachi, Deon, Octavious, Araya, Kalayha, Jeriah, Zion And Destiny; four nieces, Candace Thornton (Roderick), Pamela Terrell (Samuel II), Cassandra Ross, Dayna Aseme; one nephew Tyrell Ray, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Jones will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 19, 2018, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Taylor of Step Out On Faith Ministries officiating. Private Disposition. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time Friday at the chapel.
