Suzanne Lorrayne Cole, a loving mother of 3, died tragically at only 31 years old on Saturday, May 22, 2021.  She was born February 13, 1990, in Kansas City, MO to Clarence Cole and Kim Burt Cole.

As a young child, Suzanne could be found training to be a street fighter with her older brother, Quinton, or reading Junie B. Jones to her younger sister, Sarah. In addition, she loved watching, reading, and playing all things Sailor Moon. As time passed and her parents lifted their video game ban, Suzanne could also be found playing TV plug-in games with her younger brother, Caleb.

During her middle school years, Suzanne attended Christ the King School, where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball, much to the delight of her father, Clarence. She began her high school career at Whitefield Christian Academy, where she once performed the heel-toe on stage (alongside her sister and a friend) to the sounds of Mary Mary's "Shackles" in front of a mostly confused audience. Suzanne ultimately graduated from Center High School in 2008.

While she was in high school, she began a years-long career in the foodservice industry. Whether working as a server or hostess, Suzanne knew no stranger and created tight bonds with many of her coworkers. She eventually began working as a tax examiner for the IRS, which she openly despised and creatively avoided while still managing to be one of their most efficient employees.

In August of 2012, Suzanne gave birth to her first child, Keymani. One year and three days later, she gave birth to twins, Kylea and Keyton. Suzanne's children immediately became her greatest sources of pride. She enjoyed planning fun outings that always included impromptu family photoshoots. In 2016, Suzanne married the father of her children, Kyle Mertz, though they later divorced and co-parented as friends. She was a member of The New Bethel Church, where she was baptized in 2016.

Suzanne loved spending time with family and friends. On any given weekend, she could be found either hosting her loved ones and making her signature moscato and frozen fruit drinks, or enjoying a gathering at a cousin or friend's home. Good people, good energy, and good food (especially hot chips and rotel cheese) were all she needed to be in her happy place.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Minuard and Clarence and grandmother, Lucille.

She is survived by: her children, Keymani, Kylea, and Keyton; parents, Kim and Clarence; siblings, Quinton, Sarah (Fadhal), and Caleb; grandmother, Sadie; niece, Taylor; nephew, Aiden and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins (who were more like siblings), family, and dear friends.  We will all miss the light we found in her laughter, effortlessly hilarious wit, cheerful support, and her sincere desire to bring us joy and comfort. Though we can't make sense of losing her so soon, we find some solace in knowing that she was joyfully greeted by her predecessors and watches over us now.

Services for Ms. Cole will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 2021, at The New Bethel Church KC, KS.  Burial Mt. Moriah Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
