Sylvester Howard Pearl, Jr. was born March 12, 1941, in Chamois, Missouri, to Sylvester and Anna Pearl.

He attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, and he worked in both construction and heavy equipment.

He retired from work as a Heavy Equipment Operator III for the City of Kansas City after nearly 30 years of service.

After retiring, he worked as a driver for the disabled and elderly.

After Dad retired a second time, he spent his days with his wife of 48 years, Ivory Pearl. Dad went to be with Jesus on May 28, 2026.

Sylvester is preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as his brother Ronald Pearl and sisters Della Smith, Eva Ruth Neely, and Ruth Ann Kimble. He leaves behind his wife Ivory Pearl; one sister Alfredia Hogan; two daughters LaSandra Morrison (Paul) and Tyra Pearl; one son Sylvester H. Pearl III (Trocelia); grandchildren Aerialle Jackson, Christian Jackson, Paul Morrison, Jr, Malia Coleman, and Synclair Pearl, and great-grandson Ayden Harris. Sylvester also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
