Sylvester Wilson Sr. was born August 15, 1942. His parents Lee Fronia and Allen Phillips raised him to be the wonderful person we all know Sylvester to be. He was born and raised in Mississippi and was the eldest of his brothers and sisters Allen Phillips (Alice), Dorothy Bryant, Elizabeth Phillips, Rosie Johnson, Elijah Phillips (Gloria), Ann Jordon (James) where he later met his wife Nancy Wilson of 60 years. In this union they had 7 children. Michael Anderson, Sylvia Wrench (Terry), Sylvester Jr., Cynthia Parrish, Michelle Wilson (Benjamin Crutch), Jason Wilson and Debbie Sherman (Michael). Through these unions came a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sylvester was a life-long faithful servant to Christ. He served his christian brothers and sisters and in many other capacities. Sylvester was Director over the Bus Ministry and Finance Ministry. He has helped and has led many to Jesus and will always be loved and missed by all that knew him. He worked many years with Phillips Petroleum Company until its closure and with families as a Private Home Manager of the Wealthy. He liked to travel, watch boxing, help others and loved to eat good food. If you could cook, you had a new best friend in him. He was non-judgmental and a very cool headed, relaxed, kind and wonderful person.

Mother Lee Fronia, Father Allen, sister Rosie, sister Ann, son Jason (died at birth) and grandson Randy preceded him in passing.

Services for Mr. Wilson will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Downtown Church of Christ, 2010 Van Brunt Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64127.  Burial Mount Moriah Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
