Tammie Terrell Ewell was born in Kansas on May 16,1967 to Shirley Boyd and Karl Kendall. Tammie attend elementary and middle school in the the Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO school districts. In middle school Tammie entered the Shawnee Mission School District.She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1986. In school, one of Tammie's favorite classes was choir and she participated in the school choir throughout high school.

After high school, Tammie worked various jobs and eventually took a job driving a school bus for Durham Bus Services. The bus company changed names over the years, but Tammie remained committed to her role of making sure children arrived at school safely. Tammie worked for the bus company until she retired due to health concerns in 2015.

Tammie met the love of her life, Frank Ewell, while working for the bus company. They were married in November in the late 80's/early90's. Tammie and Frank were inseparable. You almost never saw them apart. They were each other's best friend. Tammie and Frank were not blessed with children of their own, but Tammie took great pride and honor helping to raise her nieces, Aarin and Aarionna. In 2015 Nyesha Lyas entered their life and she became the daughter they didn't have. Tammie loved Nyesha as if she were her blood daughter.

Tammie accepted Christ as a young girl and she used her beautiful soprano voice to worship and give praise the the Lord. She sang for many years with the Sisters of Praise and they traveled throughout the metropolitan Kansas City area and surrounding areas, singing in musicals, church programs, and gospel celebrations.  Tammie loved singing and we loved to hear her sing!

Tammie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ewell; parents, Shirley Hammons (Boyd), Karl Kendall; grandparents, Ernestine Boyd and Sherman Boyd Jr.; uncle, Ronald Boyd; aunt, Debra Boyd; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Tammie is left to cherish in her memory, LaRonda M. Boyd; brother, Aaron L. Boyd; nephews, Duan Boyd, Trevaun Boyd, Aaron D. Boyd, Devon Stuart, and Derron Stuart; nieces, Lasheyia Boyd, Aarionna Boyd and Aarin Boyd; uncles, Sherman Boyd, III and Darnell Boyd; Godsister, Robin Gray; Godmother, Cheterria Williams; and a host of family and friends.
