Born July 16, 1964, to Nancy Irene Baker and Claude Horton in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Loving known as Terry, but preferred his self-proclaimed nickname, Dallas.

Dallas attended Hawthorne and Roselake Elementary Schools in East St. Louis, Illinois as a child. In his junior high years, Dallas attended Landsdown and Huge Quinn in East St. Louis, Illinois before moving to Kansas City, Missouri. Dallas then attended Northeast High School, and furthered his education at Devry Technical College, where he obtained his Associates Degree in Computer Science.

Dallas decided to join the United States Army in 1987, serving in Korea, Germany, and the Gulf.  After completion of his tours, Dallas would go on to work at Jiffy Lube, Gateway, and lastly, Time Warner which he retired in 2015.

Dallas was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved playing with his dogs, listening to music by Prince, tinkering with computers, mowing his lawn, and weekly visits to his sis-sis (Tracy) house.

The Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals were his favorite sport teams.  He had a very special relationship with his brother-in-law, Aaron Robinson, and best friend, Terry Jackson.

Terry was preceded in death by both parents, Nancy Baker and Claude Horton; sister, Franki Short; two brothers, Victor Baker and Peter Horton; niece, De'Rhyan Sherman; nephew, Darris Short; one great nephew, and all of his maternal aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Kiana Carroll of Kansas City,  MO; son, Terrence Claudell Baker, Jr. of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Tyshawn, Tyree, Tylah Tyson, and Tyair Baker; six siblings, David Baker (Deborah) of Prince George County, VA, Tracy Robinson (Aaron) of Kansas City, MO, John Horton, Gloria Calvert (Gene), Baron Horton, and Nancetta Baker all of Tulsa, OK; 16 nieces, 14 nephews, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
